Beschreibung: I. 'SOLDIERS V NURSES: The soldier inmates of the Brondesbury Hospital challenge the Nurses to a cricket match, driving down to Wembley on the coaches for the match, which the soldiers won'. The game in progress; uniformed nurses bowling (underarm).II. 'SCHOOL CHILDREN FRUIT PICKING: Mr. Piggott of the Hornsey Council Schools organises a fruit picking party, girls and boys at work on a Suffolk fruit farm'. Children in a large field pick fruit and hand over their pickings.III. 'QUEEN AMELIE OPENS FETE: H.M. Queen Amelie opens the East Surrey Regimental Fête at Richmond. The funds are in aid of the Prisoners of War and Old Comrades Association'. Queen Amelie, seated, is addressed by an officer. She stands up and delivers a short speech, standing by the tape; however, she is not filmed cutting it. Amelie is introduced to a line of wounded soldiers sitting down. Further shot of Amelie, this time sat at a table. Item concludes with a panning shot (fairly badly filmed) of the fête.IV. 'TWO YEARS OF WAR: Scenes in a Belgian Town which was destroyed by the Germans two years ago at the outbreak of War'. Railway track in unidentified Belgian town; clouds of smoke rise in the distance on both sides; on the right hand side, a large building smoulders. Cut to closer views of the building: both white smoke and then black smoke pour out from behind.V. 'DRIVEN FROM THEIR HOMES: Germany's ruthlessness in waging War - driving the inhabitants out of their homes. "We shall hold it our duty to exact reparation against the guilty agents in these matters". MR ASQUITH'. Civilians/refugees, some carrying their belongings, cross a bridge (poor quality film). Shots of devastation: wrecked building, smoke rising behind it; camera pans to reveal the building shown previously.
